volunteers cleaning the beach in Brazil

The beautiful beaches of our beloved Maceió and the whole Brazil are getting more and more polluted, more and more animals are found dead on the coast. Beaches, seas and lakes become the final destination of the majority of the wastes produced by humans which causes the animals to die eating the rubbish. To attract the attention of the people to the problem and to raise the consciousness level many volunteers united this Saturday, International Coastal Cleanup Day and performed the cleaning action on the Beach of Pajuçara. Organised by Biota – our partner NGO, where some of our students work as volunteers, the event counted with the presence of 150 people with own rubbish bags and gloves.
